Mainly I'm talking to Graphic Design and Web Design students here, but this also applies to Animation, Convergence Journalism, SID, and Video Entertainment students:

There is something you can start doing that will really give you a boost in several ways: follow design blogs.  These blogs can give you current news, tutorials, opinions, inspiration, and even free stuff to download and use in your projects.  You can follow these design blogs from your own blog - adding them to your reading list, or to a widget (as I have done here) - or, you may follow them on Twitter, Facebook, or with an RSS feed.

One of these blogs is Enfuzed.  Today they posted some free weather-related icons that can be used in various projects.
